Designer Billy Hobbs from San Antonio, Texas USA
What was the inspiration behind this print?
I’ve been wanting to do a floral print for a while now. I’ve been seeing some fantastic hexagonal patterns in tile designs and wanted to incorporate that hexagonal pattern into a floral print. Windflower was the end result.
How will this print make a home feel?
Windflower is a very diverse print with different color choices but especially with different value choices. High contrast color choices are going to feel more energetic and low contrast cooler colors are going to be more soothing and relaxing. With all of the colors available at Alluminare, this pattern is almost universal and could work in just about any room.
What are your favorite versions of ‘Windflower’?
Black, white and gray is a nice sophisticated color choice on this fixture. Its neutrality makes it very diverse.
Here is the pillow in a warmer high contrast color scheme. The contrast and warmth of the colors make it really stand out and very energetic.
This lamp shade is more soothing and relaxed in a monochromatic color scheme of white, cream, and pale buttercup.
Our favorite versions of ‘Windflower’
We love the clean lines of Windflower, and how well it works on walls especially. Here’s a few of our favorite versions of this print:
Shades of gray have been hot with our customers lately, and I think this print rendered in grays is sophisticated and modern, yet still soft and approachable.
On the flip side, these colors on the wallpaper are ideal for a girl’s room – young, fresh, and vibrant.
Wall art is a great way to pair prints, and I just love Windflower paired with another of Billy’s prints, ‘Cerchio’ in the same serene colors.
