Print of the Week: Prism Swirl by Carol Van Zandt

by Friday Shamblen on November 29, 2011

Say hello to ‘Prism Swirl’ by designer Carol Van Zandt

Designer Carol Van Zandt from San Francisco, CA, USA

What was the inspiration behind this print?

This design was made into a abstract pattern from just a few lines of a drawing of some leaves, and I expanded it and kept it moving thinking about leaves swirling and reflection.

How will this print make a home feel?

This print give a feeling of clean and luxurious fluidity and movement.

What are your favorite versions of ‘Prism Swirl’?

Custom Wallpaper in Mist, Ice Blue

Prism Swirl is great on wallpaper, in any size though I like it large best. Subtle or dramatic colors both work with this since it feels harmonious and exciting at the same time.

Throw Pillow in White, Poppy

Throw Pillow. Yes! An exciting accent. Pillows add that extra touch. Here Prism Swirl gets to really add a touch of drama and contrast.

18-inch Drum Lamp Shade in White, Gray

Love Prism Swirl on lamps–a little accent and a little action for those lampshades. Darker colors are nice when you want mood lighting, or lighter colors for a bright clean look.

Our favorite versions of ‘Prism Swirl’

Here’s a few of our favorite versions of this print:

24-inch Drum Pendant Light in Croissant, Chocolate

Chocolate and Croissant are classic colors that everyone loves.

Large Rectangular Pendant Light in Light Hampton Blue, Hampton Blue

We love this print in shades of blue. Place this large drum pendant over your dining table, and pair it with 3 pendants in the opposite colorway over your bar.

6-inch Drum Pendant Light in Hampton Blue, Light Hampton Blue

Same print, same colors – just reversed. The scale is smaller, and therefore suited to the smaller scale of the pendant lights in this over-the-bar size.

A big thank you to Carol Van Zandt for spending time with us today on our blog. You can check out more of our World Class Designers on our main website.
